Aurelien Ducroz Wins Verbier Extreme and Freeride World Tour - Mon 21st Mar 2011

Chamonix Skier Aurelien Ducroz won the last leg of the Freeride World Tour in Verbier yesterday and was crowned World Champion.

"Everything Went perfect for me today." Said the Frenchman. "I Was really surprised nobody went on my line and thought to myself: 'You guys Gave me a big present! " I jumped Two Big cliffs, I love the Bec des Rosses Because it requires very Technical skiing and I'm so happy to win here. I've been waiting for this title. Now I Can go with a light heart into my sailing season."

The resort is the home of the Xtreme Verbier, the final stop on the Freeride World Tour. This extreme skiing and snowboarding contest is held on the famous Bec des Rosses mountain in March. During the summer months, the resort is home to the Verbier Festival, a classical music festival of international acclaim, the Grand Raid Cristalp mountain biking competition and the Grand Concours Hippique horse show.
